    T. V. Appearance

    Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Stephanie Bryson from KSL Studio 5 called and asked if I could teach the viewers a few things about photography. I was thrilled, scared and honored all at the same time. I have never done a TV segment before this. Hope you learn something! Thanks to all my great clients who let me use their pictures to teach with!!

    IPPA Awards

    Friday, January 1st, 2010

I have an amazing client named Kami Jensen. She is a breast cancer survivor and came to me wanting to document her journey with cancer. We did several photo sessions and designed a book with her photos and many thoughts and quotes that she gave me. Recently, I entered that album into a competition for the Intermountain Professional Photography Association, or IPPA. They have a national panel of judges that come out for the competition. If you score over 80 points for a piece, you are awarded a merit which is a great accomplishment. The judges had been very harsh and very few merits were given out during the competition. I was shocked and thrilled when they scored Kami’s album and gave it a 98!! That is unheard of! They had the awards ceremony the next night and I was inducted into the Court of Honor – and award given to the top 12 highest scoring photographers. I also won 1st place in the album division, and then at the end of the evening, the album won Best of Show!!! It was incredible! The best part was that Kami was able to attend the awards ceremony with us. When it won Best of Show, I invited her to come up on stage with me. The audience gave her a standing ovation and it was amazing!!! Her courage and her story touched so many people’s lives. It was a night I will always remember!! Thanks Kami for trusting me to tell your inspiring story.
